About The Position

Bo’s Generators, part of the Power Support Partners family, is seeking a Service & Maintenance Technician for the Bradenton/Sarasota area. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators. Operating from a home-based dispatch model, the technician will travel directly to customer locations. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, mechanically inclined, organized, and comfortable working independently while providing exceptional customer service and representing the company with professionalism and integrity.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in generator service, electrical work, mechanical repair, HVAC, diesel, automotive, or related technical field.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Comfortable using tablets, smartphones, and service software.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience servicing Generac, Kohler, Cummins, Briggs & Stratton, or similar generator systems.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Generac certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Residential service experience and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual and semi-annual generator maintenance visits, including inspections, oil changes, filter replacements, battery testing, and operational checks.
  • Identify potential issues before they become service failures and document maintenance findings and recommendations.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, fuel, and control system issues on generators.
  • Troubleshoot generator failures and performance concerns.
  • Complete repairs on residential and light commercial standby generators.
  • Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
  • Communicate professionally with customers before, during, and after service visits, explaining findings and repair recommendations clearly.
  • Accurately complete service tickets, inspection reports, and required documentation in Service Titan.
  • Utilize company software and mobile applications to manage work orders.
  • Maintain inventory levels and vehicle stock.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and management regarding scheduling, parts needs, and customer follow-up.
