About The Position

The Service Technician will be responsible for servicing pool/splash pad pumps/motors and chemical balancing computer systems. This role involves performing general pool maintenance, reporting issues to the supervisor, and conducting maintenance duties at City facilities and grounds. Responsibilities include mowing, weed-eating, custodial work, and assisting with special events. The technician will also perform minor repairs to facilities such as carpentry, painting, and concrete work. Additionally, the role involves maintaining grounds by mowing, weed-eating, cutting grass, and trimming trees. The technician will operate a variety of motorized equipment, including tractors and trucks, and use various power tools like mowers and weed eaters. The position requires assisting department personnel as directed, using good judgment for safe operation of equipment, and maintaining clean work areas. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • One (1) year servicing pumps and motors in pool environment
  • Six (6) months using various power tools and hand tools in construction or field maintenance.
  • Must be available for on-call rotation.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and push, pull or drag up to 100 pounds.
  • Dexterity: Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Handling: Picking, holding, or otherwise working, primarily with the whole hand.
  • Visual ability: sufficient to effectively operate office equipment including copier, computer, etc.; and to read and write reports, correspondence, instructions, etc.
  • Hearing ability: sufficient to hold a conversation with other individuals both in person and over a telephone; and to hear recording on transcription device.
  • Speaking ability: sufficient to communicate effectively with other individuals in person and over the telephone.
  • Mental Acuity: Ability to make rational decisions through sound logic and deductive processes.
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word including those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Repetitive Motion: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
