About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing various types of equipment at customers’ locations. The Service Technician must be able to work independently and under supervision and possess excellent customer service, mechanical and electrical skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver license and a clean driving record.
  • Possession of relevant licenses and certifications, as required by local or state regulations.
  • Minimum three years previous experience as service technician in fire alarm installation, electrical installation, or a similar role.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stand for prolong periods, use power tools, and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to differentiate colors for wiring.
  • Work may be performed outside in high/low temperature.

Responsibilities

  • Completes assignments according to established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs system checkout under supervision on newly installed systems.
  • Assists in testing and verification of all supervisory, alarm signaling, auxiliary and panel functions for proper operation, termination of field wiring (as required under supervision) and documentation of results F.C.O.
  • Performs preventative maintenance inspections under supervision: System reset, alarm verification, inspection report writing, cleaning, and testing of field devices, and testing of control equipment.
  • Performs installation of systems or upgrades under the direction of a senior service technician, project superintendent, pulls wire runs, installs conduit, terminates devices, and organizes delivery of material.
  • Transports materials, tools, and equipment to the work area as needed and maintains job site cleanliness.
  • Maintains and organizes tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Exercises care and use of the property and equipment.
  • Participates in an emergency service support program on a rotating basis.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and procedures. Wears PPE when required.
  • Communicates with clients in a clear and professional manner as well as follows up and deliver on customer expectations. Builds Strong relationships to increase customer confidence and trust.
  • Completes and submits paperwork and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Reports any issues or incidents promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Operates with the highest level of conduct, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Adheres to company policies and procedures.
