About The Position

Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing the repair, service, and/or maintenance work. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential duties include examining customer vehicles, identifying necessary repairs and maintenance, estimating repair costs, performing vehicle repairs and maintenance, documenting services performed, and ensuring services are performed efficiently and according to dealership guidelines. The role also involves following dealership and manufacturer service guidelines, requesting necessary parts, utilizing technologies to enhance customer experience, maintaining CSI at or above Company standards, keeping a clean and safe work area, participating in required training, accurately recording hours worked, and following all safety rules and regulations. The technician is expected to demonstrate the Company’s Core Values and comply with all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
  • Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge.
  • Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.
  • Basic Computer skills to utilize timekeeping system.
  • Ability to learn parts department computer inventory and ordering system.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
  • Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations.
  • Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified/senior technician with respective manufacturer.
  • All required manufacturer fundamental training and/or NAPA training provided by HAG.
  • Meets and/or exceeds manufacturer requirements for ASE tests.
  • Completed manufacturer training to perform: warranty repairs/recalls on most vehicles, PDI’s, maintenance, and minor repairs.
