About The Position

The Service Technician is primarily responsible for operating a company truck and driving to various customer locations to deliver, pick up, maintain, service, or repair portable restrooms, hand sinks, holding tanks, or any assigned asset. The Route Service Technician may perform these duties on a daily route, a daily pick-up and delivery schedule, as a yard/shop assistant, or during a special event. This position is exposed to extreme weather conditions, unpleasant odors, and sights. The hours and physical demands may vary by task. Stallion operates as a team environment, and at any time, a Service Technician may be asked to assist in a different department with different tasks.

Requirements

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Possess a valid driver license
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background screen and drug and alcohol tests
  • Route Service Technicians are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by StallionRents.
  • Understand waste collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction; See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Ability to read, operate, and understand an electronic map/GPS/dispatching system utilizing a phone or iPad.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (prolonged physical exertions, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing).
  • General knowledge of the mechanics of trucks.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with WSI staff and customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to pull a trailer preferred.
  • Waste industry experience preferred.
  • 1-year previous commercial driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operates truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a clean truck inside and out.
  • Performs daily pre and post trip inspections as set forth by StallionRents procedures and D.O.T. guidelines. Major concerns should be brought to the Branch Operations Manager without delay.
  • Follows all StallionRents’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and General Standards.
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to the dispatch office who will determine course of action.
  • Performs all tasks assigned by Branch Operations Manager, including but not limited to delivery and pick up of rental equipment, restocking trucks, organizing shop, organizing yard, helping in a different department or responding to emergency calls in a timely manner.
  • Provides service for customers’ portable restroom(s) or related asset(s) by following consistently Stallion Service Steps each time a service is performed.
  • Keeps work areas in yard clean and organized and notifies Branch Manager if a hazard is recognized.
  • Communicates with Branch Operations Manager on items that can hinder a job i.e., low inventory, keys, chemicals, supplies etc.
  • Communicates with office staff regarding items that can hinder a job.
  • Submits all route information and paperwork to the office at end of each shift.
  • Utilizes dispatching software for routing, documenting photos, logs customer concerns.
  • Maintains professional interaction with employees and customers.
  • Provides a distinguishably different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of operation to the general public and customers. All contact is to be documented using routing software tablet provided in real time during the route day.
  • Answers questions for customers and directs them to contact office for additional information.
  • Provides routing feedback to office and Dispatcher to be most efficient as well as giving the customer the best service possible.
  • Wears uniforms at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
