About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing service issues in apartment homes and buildings. This role also involves preparing vacant apartment homes for leasing and new move-ins, assisting in maintaining grounds and common areas, and completing preventative maintenance tasks. The technician will participate in snow removal, share in emergency call rotation, and ensure the successful execution of company operations policies and procedures. Delivering high levels of resident satisfaction through responsive and professional interactions is a key aspect of this role. Some weekend, evening, and on-call shifts may be required.

Requirements

Two years experience as a maintenance technician and/or training.
High School or GED required.
General building maintenance experience including any combination of the following: apartment turnover, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, carpentry, construction.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
A strong desire to continually improve technical skills.
The ability to safely use small hand tools and power tools.
The ability to stay well organized, detailed, and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
A valid state-issued driver's license with safe driving record and a reliable form of transportation.
Must demonstrate the ability to frequently lift, carry and move items weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
Must be able to withstand prolonged standing and repetitive activities, to include but not limited to walking, climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, and kneeling.
Regularly uses hands to manipulate tools, machinery, equipment, and supplies.

Nice To Haves

Trade School or Industry Training is a plus.
