About The Position
Southern Tire Mart is seeking a Service Technician to join their team. This role involves mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires on various vehicle types, including passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles. The technician will also diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, covering areas such as Commercial Tires, HVAC systems, Brakes, Steering & Suspension, PM Inspections, Drivetrain, and Electrical Systems. Responsibilities include conducting fleet inspections, routine maintenance, operating company vehicles safely, responding to roadside service calls, using and maintaining Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), assisting with inventory, and participating in ongoing training. The company is a leading commercial tire dealer and retreader in North America.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.

- Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred.
Responsibilities
- Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across various vehicle types: passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers, including: Commercial Tires, HVAC systems, Brakes, Steering & Suspension, PM Inspections, Drivetrain, Electrical Systems.
- Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
- Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.
- Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck (F-350), when needed.
- Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
- Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
- Participate in ongoing training, follow safety protocols, and uphold company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
