About The Position

The Service Technician is responsible for evaluating homeowner repair concerns, determining whether items are covered under warranty, and completing or coordinating necessary repairs. This position works closely with homeowners, subcontractors, supervisors, and internal teams to ensure service and warranty repairs are completed accurately, professionally, and within required standards. This role requires strong customer service skills, hands-on repair experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while maintaining a professional and ethical approach to all customer interactions.

Requirements

  • Strong repair skills, including carpentry, drywall, texture repair, and painting.
  • Ability to evaluate repair concerns and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and positively with homeowners, subcontractors, builders, and team members.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and remain productive with limited supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow a systematic approach when completing assignments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and mobile applications.
  • Ability to use warranty/service applications on a smartphone, tablet, or laptop.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation capable of carrying supplies.
  • Ability to travel between designated communities during daytime and nighttime hours.
  • Experience with carpentry, drywall, texture repair, and painting required.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of related service, repair, or warranty experience preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with minor electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repair work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate homeowner repair issues to determine whether items are warrantable.
  • Process written or electronic work orders and verbal instructions from supervisors for homeowner repairs.
  • Perform necessary home repairs, including carpentry work, drywall repair, texture repair, and painting.
  • Schedule and manage subcontractors to complete designated warranty repairs.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with company standards, builder requirements, and applicable compliance expectations.
  • Verify that warranty work is completed within contractor obligations.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with subcontractors, homeowners, builders, and internal team members.
  • Follow up with homeowners to ensure concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process charge-back documentation, invoices, and related repair paperwork.
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to support customer satisfaction and company goodwill.
  • Use company systems, applications, smartphones, tablets, or laptops to document and manage warranty-related work.
  • Travel between designated communities and job sites as needed.
  • Work overtime as business needs require.
  • Travel overnight as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
