About The Position
Bar W Petroleum & Electric is seeking a Service Technician to perform electronic and mechanical repairs. This role involves working both at Bar W facilities and on-site at customer locations, supporting the Industrial/Commercial Electric and Downstream Petroleum industries. The technician will specialize in Retail/Commercial Gas Stations, Cardlock/Bulk Petroleum sites, Carwashes, and Commercial/Industrial Electrical Services across Western Canada, Yukon, and NWT. The position can be located in either Red Deer or Edmonton.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical and petroleum troubleshooting relevant to Service Technician jobs.
- Will be required to complete and be certified in CPCA PM1 Training.
- Ability to operate software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with computerized machinery and hand tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
- Ability to maintain and expand technical knowledge through training.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in downstream maintenance, electrical work, calibration, car washes, and construction.
Responsibilities
- Conduct electronic and mechanical repairs, both on-site and in-house as part of the Service Technician job description.
- Perform installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance on fuel dispensing equipment, focusing on petrol pump service technician tasks.
- Service car wash operating equipment at various locations.
- Maintain strong customer relationships and handle service calls effectively.
- Contribute ideas for operational and technical improvements.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and promptly.
- Ensure safe practices are being followed in line with Health and Safety guidelines.
