This position performs basic work using clearly prescribed procedures. The Service Technician responds to customer requests for service including connections and disconnections as they become operator qualified. They will inform customers of needed repairs, answer basic questions, and assure customer understanding and satisfaction with work completed. The role may involve disconnecting service, performing collection efforts on delinquent accounts, and installing, programming, and operating Wireless Meter Reading (WMR) equipment. Additionally, the technician assists with activities to assure responsiveness to natural gas and other emergencies and completes and maintains accurate records and reports to comply with Company and regulatory requirements. Meter reading and recording usage for billing may also be a responsibility.
