About The Position

Custom Truck One Source (CTOS) is seeking a Service Technician / Mechanic for their Sacramento, California location. This role involves assessing, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing damaged or worn parts on a variety of vocational and utility trucks and equipment. The technician will provide repair and maintenance for medium/heavy-duty trucks, with a background in hydraulics and electrical systems being a plus. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining accurate records of parts, services, and labor, submitting work/repair orders for approval, and performing all duties in accordance with safety best practices. The technician will also attend monthly safety meetings.

Requirements

  • Experience with truck-mounted hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes; construction, mining, farm equipment.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • Experience with diesel, medium or heavy truck, or related equipment. (construction, farm, military)
  • General mechanical aptitude / knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, construction, farm, or truck
  • Basic Computer skills and ability to document repair activity.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Physical effort to move objects and tools; frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling and a high level of dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus
  • 3 plus years maintenance and repair of Utility Trucks and Equipment.
  • Vocational Technical School or Military Wheeled Mechanic or related training a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged / worn parts on a variety of vocational / utility trucks & equipment.
  • Provide repair and maintenance to medium / heavy duty trucks, and background in hydraulics and electrical is a plus.
  • Assess, diagnose, repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts for variety of manufacturers of utility equipment to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of parts, services and labor to track costs so vehicles can be properly priced and reflect the value of quality offered by the company.
  • Submit all work/repair orders as required to a supervisor for approval to ensure budgets are maintained and costs of vehicle repairs accurately reflected.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with best practices for a safe work environment.
  • Attend monthly safety meetings held by Custom Truck One Source.
  • Other duties as assigned.
