About The Position
Meade Tractor is seeking a dedicated Service Technician with experience in Lawn & Garden Equipment for their Abingdon location. This role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. The technician may require some guidance from management or senior technicians. Meade Tractor has been providing outstanding products and service since 2010 and is looking for employees who are passionate and ready to grow with the company.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on Turf Equipment preferred.
- Technical school preferred.
- 3 years or more related experience preferred and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities
- Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
- Reads job order and observes equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plans work procedures.
- Installs fuel injection nozzles and pumps, change or recharges batteries, and replaces transmissions, hydraulic systems and component parts.
- Examines protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devises on equipment, and makes adjustments.
- Lubricates moving parts and operates repaired equipment to verify conformance to specifications.
- Enters a legible description of work performed onto the work orders.
- Maintains and cares for the shop tools and equipment.
- Maintains a clean work area and performs miscellaneous housekeeping duties associated with the job.
- Ensures work is performed safely and safe work procedures are followed throughout the department.
- Reads schematics denoting operating specifications for unit or component and type of evaluation required.
- Tests unit for conformance with operating requirements.
- Helps ensure that our new and used whole goods are in good working condition.
- Complies with all state and local laws while operating company vehicle.
- Other roles and responsibilities as determined by supervisor.
