Purpose: The Service Technician II assists in the development of the Service Department by meeting all customer needs relating to electrical service.

Requirements

  • Wiring systems and all phases of project installation
  • Electrical control work and troubleshooting
  • Purchasing of electrical material and parts
  • Experience in commercial, industrial and manufacturing environments
  • Meeting and exceeding customer expectations and needs
  • Assertive and proactive
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Journeyman Electrician License
  • At least 4 years of experience as Service Tech
  • Able to work off all types of ladders, lifts and elevated platforms (electric or gas powered)
  • Able to work at various heights up to 50 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks, or other safe work areas
  • Able to work in restricted areas, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces and attics
  • Able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
  • Able to carry tools and materials up to 50 pounds from the ground to overhead
  • Able to constantly move on feet, climbing ladders and working overhead
  • Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
  • Able to get to customer job sites
  • Able to work in all elements, depending on job locations and time of year

Responsibilities

  • Investigate and problem solve to determine most efficient way to install changes to existing service
  • Working alone must be capable of performing electrical work
  • Determine customer needs and most effective way to meet them then sell the solution
  • Estimate the amount of time and material to complete service tasks
  • Communicate with Service Manager frequently regarding scheduling
  • Work around building owners and tenants to perform jobs
  • Determine what is necessary to accomplish tasks and comply with NEC standards
  • Communicate with vendors, engineers and other contractors to assure jobs are completed on schedule
  • Contact customers to set appointments
  • Strive at all times to meet budget
  • Be on call 24 / 7 for 2 weeks every 3 months
  • Properly maintain company vehicle
  • Develop and retain client base
  • Maintain daily logs and project tasking
  • Communicate and reinforce and goals
  • Perform additional assignments as assigned
  • Work 40 hours/week plus overtime when required
