About The Position

Canyon AeroConnect is a leading supplier of avionic-standard aircraft communications, navigation, and audio/intercom systems. This role performs maintenance, preventative maintenance, and modifications to avionics equipment in accordance with FAR Part 145 repair station regulations. The technician will conduct preliminary analyses, alignments, troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronics, meeting or exceeding expected productivity standards based on manufacturer-approved data and FAA certified repair station requirements.

Requirements

  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • Entry level technician, without Canyon AeroConnect specific product experience.
  • Light to moderate electronics troubleshooting proficiency.
  • Educated in electronics or has previous experience repairing electronic devices.
  • Manual dexterity and excellent hand/eye coordination needed for use of small hand tools, including soldering.
  • Vision sufficient to work with surface-mount electronic components.
  • Surface-mount electronic component soldering skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • High School diploma (or equivalent) and no previous work experience.
  • Must be familiar with electronics theory, schematics, artwork, hardware and test equipment.
  • Computer proficiency preferred.
  • FCC license preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-year technical degree or certified and/or 2-year equivalent experience in related field.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance, preventative maintenance, and modifications to avionics equipment IAW FAR Part 145 repair station regulations.
  • Performs preliminary analyses, alignments, light to moderate troubleshooting, repair, and testing of electronics.
  • Ensures work meets or exceeds expected productivity in accordance with the manufacturer’s approved data and the FAA certified repair station requirements.
  • Continues learning and skills building as required to support the business.
  • Complies with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, ISO procedures, and Canyon AeroConnect policies and procedures.
  • Reads, interprets, and performs maintenance from electronic drawings and documentation.
  • Performs repair rework using solder equipment to acceptable IPC J-STD specifications.
  • Inspects all assigned maintenance articles and replacement materials for defects and proper identification.
  • Records work performed in a complete and legible manner for proper traceability.
  • Works diligently to meet standard and expedited work deadlines to achieve on-time performance objectives and customer expectations.
  • Participates and supports in workplace audits and maintains test equipment calibration.
  • Complies with lean work methods and keeps workspace clean and orderly.
  • Supports company warranty reduction and cost avoidance objectives.
  • Supports other Operations department activities, including production work as assigned.
  • Complies with the Canyon AeroConnect Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Complies with and upholds Canyon AeroConnect EH&S policies and standards.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance, consistent physical presence is required to effectively perform the job duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
