About The Position

A Service Technician Diesel I is responsible for performing basic maintenance and service on diesel engines and related components. This role may involve diagnosing issues, conducting inspections, servicing equipment, and completing necessary repairs. Service Technicians Diesel I typically work in a variety of settings, such as construction sites or shops. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are important qualities for individuals in this role.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime and extended hours including weekend depending on customer and company demands.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
  • Must have knowledge of industrial tools, their uses and maintenance.
  • Subject matter expert and ability to apply knowledge and experience in situations.
  • Must have Valid driver's license.

  • Technical Expertise - Solid mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, including basic maintenance checks and troubleshooting minor issues. Ability to identify signs of equipment malfunction and report them to the maintenance team.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment is preferred.
  • Additional vocational/trade school training in a mechanical field is also preferred.
  • Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Basic understanding of service intervals.
  • Locate fluid types, capacities, and special instructions in manufacturer's digital service manual.
  • Service, grease, lube all mobile equipment.
  • Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors.
  • Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
  • Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrial hand tools in a safe manner throughout the shop and plant.
  • Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed on a daily and monthly basis regarding all mobile equipment.
  • Enter and maintain service reports for all the mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
  • Perform physical activities that require moving your whole body and considerable use of your arms and legs, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
