About The Position

Chevrolet GMC of Fairbanks is looking for Service Technicians to join our growing service team. This role involves performing repairs, diagnosing vehicle issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction through quality workmanship. The technician will be responsible for documenting work, maintaining tools, and staying current with training and certifications.

Requirements

  • Communicate with customers, coworkers, and management.
  • Perform lube and maintenance services independently with manufacturer-approved procedures.
  • Diagnose and repair engine, suspension/steering, and brake systems.
  • Perform heating and air conditioning repairs independently, when applicable.
  • Maintain manufacturer certification in all required repair areas and hold at least one ASE certification (ASE Master Technician preferred).
  • Achieve and maintain a customer pay proficiency level exceeding 100% on customer-paid repair work.
  • Possess three+ years of experience with strong diagnostic and repair knowledge.
  • Acceptable driving record and a valid driver's license in your state of residence.
  • High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required.

  • ASE Master Technician preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs according to repair orders, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
  • Diagnose vehicle malfunctions and complete repairs in compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Road-test vehicles and verify the quality of completed repairs before returning them to customers.
  • Document repair work, test results, and labor time using company procedures.
  • Maintain and provide a complete set of required mechanic's tools and return specialty tools after use.
  • Use shop supplies and materials responsibly while maintaining a clean, organized work area and completing daily stall cleaning.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are returned in the same clean condition as when they were received.
  • Complete all required training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications.
  • Stay current on technical training, service bulletins, and other manufacturer or management-directed updates.
  • Report any safety, security, or operational concerns to management.
