About The Position

Responsible for performing maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline. This role involves diagnosing and repairing various truck systems using a range of hand and power tools, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and efficiently according to supervisor or work order instructions. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining correct time punches, following warranty procedures, test driving vehicles to diagnose issues, and keeping the work area and customer vehicles clean.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia (May be waived if medical waiver is produced)
  • Possess valid A/C certification
  • Complete and pass 100% of specified Freightliner Training
  • Possess ASE Master Heavy Duty Truck Technician certification
  • Possess a valid CDL license for the state of Georgia
  • Possess valid A/C certification

  • Must complete 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance on trucks from class 5 through class 8 vehicles and recreational vehicles per OEM and company guideline.
  • Diagnoses and repairs major engine oil leaks, drivetrain repairs, fuel systems (pump and injectors), anti-lock brakes, engine geartrain repairs, steering systems, transmission synchronizers, advanced cab and chassis electrical repair, engine electronics diagnostics and repair, vehicle electronic systems diagnostics and repair, camshaft R/R, cylinder head R/R, cylinder liner R/R, transmission electronics diagnostics and repair, failure analysis, inter axle differential overhaul, and transmission rear section overhaul.
  • Diagnoses and repairs various truck systems using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists.
  • Ensures that repairs are completed in an accurate manner as per supervisor or work order instructions.
  • Maintains correct time punches and work order processes.
  • Maintains efficiency standards and attendance policy as required.
  • Tags all parts as required and follows all warranty procedures set forth by each OEM.
  • Test drives trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspects, tests, and listens to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges.
  • Keeps work area clean and free of debris.
  • Keeps customer vehicle clean during repair process and after repairs are complete.
  • Completes 100% of on-line Freightliner Technician Training to become Systems Certified in Cascadia, M-2, Western Star, DT12, Detroit Axles, CNG Systems.
