About The Position
The service technician apprentice is responsible for a variety of entry level job duties, to include aspects of detailing, yard work, rigging as well as gaining general knowledge of the sales, service, and parts department’s processes through a structured apprentice program. The apprentice will follow the guidance of their assigned mentor technician while completing their outlined goals and tasks.
Requirements
- Completion of Self-led and online training curriculum/courses
- Familiarity with products and understanding of boat detailing nuances
- Understanding of yard personnel functions
- Exposure to new product assembly procedures
- Exposure to warranty procedures
- Exposure to work order entry
- Exposure to time management skills
- Exposure to parts department operations
- Exposure to customer service principles
- Exposure to work order management
- Exposure to timecard entry
- Exposure to documentation importance
- Understanding of sales and delivery processes for new boats
- Ability to interface with lead technician and riggers
- Ability to perform light duty technician tasks (e.g., changing oil filters, general service, warranty repairs)
- Ability to assist with repairs
- Ability to set up and participate in boat shows and promotional events
- Ability to maintain a professional and clean workspace
- Ability to pass OEM certification(s)
- Ability to complete all required apprenticeship documentation daily
- Ability to follow apprentice program outline, complete tasks, and meet goals

Responsibilities
- Successfully complete Self-led and online training curriculum/courses
- Successfully learn and exhibit skills in detailing (exterior, interior, buff and wax, safety guidelines)
- Gain understanding of yard personnel functions including equipment and machinery operation, boat movement and storing procedures, and yard safety
- Gain exposure to new product assembly procedures, warranty procedures, work order entry, and time management skills
- Gain exposure to all aspects of parts department operations including over the counter and work order sales processes, parts ordering and inventory maintenance
- Gain critical knowledge of customer service, work order management, timecard entry, and documentation importance by shadowing a senior Service Advisor
- Gain understanding of the processes associated with the sales and delivery of new boats
- Interface on a daily basis with lead technician and riggers to ensure effective acclimation to the role
- Perform light duty technician tasks such as changing oil filters, general service and warranty repairs, and assist as needed with any other repairs
- Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events
- Maintain a professional and clean workspace for customer viewing
- Successfully pass OEM certification(s)
- Complete all required apprenticeship documentation daily
- Follow the apprentice program outline and complete all tasks and meet all goals
- Other tasks as assigned
