Service Technician Apprentice
About The Position
The Technician Apprentice is responsible for a variety of entry level job duties, to include aspects of detailing, yard work, rigging as well as gaining general knowledge of the sales, service and parts departments. This role provides exposure to multiple facets of the business, including customer service, parts management, sales processes, and hands-on technical work. The apprentice will interface daily with lead technicians and riggers to ensure proper acclimation to the role and will participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events. Maintaining a professional appearance and workspace is also a key aspect of this position.

Responsibilities
- Gain familiarity of products and understand nuances involved in boat detailing (exterior, interior, buff, wax) and safety guidelines.
- Understand functions of yard personnel, including equipment and machinery operation, proper boat movement and storing procedures, and yard safety.
- Gain exposure to new product assembly procedures, boat builders rigging requirements, and MarineMax rigging SSO’s.
- Perform light duty tasks such as changing oil filters, general service, and warranty repairs.
- Assist with any other repairs as directed by a technician, advisor, or service management.
- Gain critical knowledge of customer service, work order management, time card entry, importance of documentation, and working knowledge of service scheduler and SSO.
- Gain exposure to all aspects of departmental operations in the Parts Department, including over-the-counter and work order sales processes, parts ordering, and inventory maintenance.
- Gain a general overview of the processes associated with the sales and delivery of new boats.
- Interface on a daily basis with lead technician and riggers to ensure proper acclimation to the role.
- Set up and participate in boat shows and other off-site promotional events.
- Maintain a professional and clean personal appearance and workspace for customer viewing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
