About The Position

Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines. This role involves assisting the service manager with supervisory duties, working independently on engine/compressor or engine/generator packages, and understanding engine electric controls and governing systems. The technician will perform all work associated with gas compressor revamp, stay informed of equipment updates, and ensure proficient and safe job completion. The position also requires promoting good welfare within the company and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 4 year(s) previous experience.
  • G.E.D. High School Diploma.
  • Must meet all of the qualifications of a Service Tech Class A.
  • Advance troubleshooting skills.
  • Working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its’ objectives.
  • Meet goals and objectives set forth by the company.
  • Conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company.
  • Must have a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation.
  • Computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook).
  • Dependable and able to work independently.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able to bend and twist several times a day.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days.
  • Maintain good client relations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the service manager with supervisory duties.
  • Work alone on engine/compressor packages or engine/generator packages.
  • Understand engine electric controls.
  • Understand engine governing systems including electronic controls.
  • Perform all work associated with gas compressor revamp.
  • Stay informed of the latest changes in the various models of equipment.
  • Ensure that all jobs are completed and that the work was done in a proficient and safe manner.
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its’ divisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
