About The Position

The Service Tech I plays a critical role in supporting construction operations by providing essential maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting services for construction equipment and machinery. This entry-level position focuses on ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and contributing to project timelines. The role requires hands-on technical work, including diagnostics, routine servicing, and assisting senior technicians with complex repairs. The Service Tech I will collaborate closely with project managers and equipment operators to identify issues and implement timely solutions. Ultimately, this position is foundational in maintaining the reliability and performance of construction assets, directly impacting the success of construction projects across various sites in the United States.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and construction equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions and travel to different job sites within the United States.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation.
• Communication skills.
• Safety awareness and adherence to protocols.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a vocational or technical training program related to heavy equipment maintenance or repair.
• Previous experience in construction equipment servicing or a related field.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems used in construction machinery.
• Certification in OSHA safety standards or other relevant safety training.
• Basic welding or fabrication skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on construction equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment manuals.
• Assist senior technicians in repairing and replacing faulty components on various types of construction machinery.
• Maintain accurate records of service and repair activities, including parts used and time spent on each task.
• Communicate effectively with equipment operators and project supervisors to report equipment status and recommend maintenance schedules.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while working on-site and in the workshop.
• Support inventory management by tracking tools, parts, and supplies needed for maintenance tasks.
