About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Service Shop Technician to accurately diagnose, maintain, and assemble customer and store equipment. This role involves working with a variety of merchandise including bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey equipment, baseball gear, golf clubs, racquet sports equipment, archery arrows, and paintball markers. The technician will also be responsible for ordering repair parts from vendors, safely filling CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers, maintaining detailed equipment records, and assisting with the delivery and loading of customer equipment and merchandise. The position requires the ability to interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Flexibility in work schedule is essential, with operating hours between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday, potentially including varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must possess a clean, valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to obtain DOT certification.
  • Meet Scheels driving standards.
  • Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment.
  • Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
