About The Position

The Service Shop Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of customer’s small power tools/equipment. This role requires identifying mechanical, electrical, and fuel system problems and making necessary repairs. The Service Shop Technician must provide the highest level of customer service and the highest quality of service work possible. Basic mechanic knowledge and computer knowledge including Excel and Word are required. Silver Stihl Certification is also required. The hourly pay range is $17.00-$19.00, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform service to power equipment including mowers, chainsaws, weed trimmers, blowers, generators and pumps in a timely and efficient manner.
Clearly explain diagnosis and required repairs to customers, including warranty claims.
Perform routine engine maintenance such as lubricating parts and replacing spark plugs.
Test and inspect engines for malfunctioning parts.
Adjust components according to specifications.
Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts.
Reassemble and reinstall components and engines following repairs.
Keep records of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used.
Process orders in compliance with all requirements.
Perform in a productive and positive manner in a high stress and fast-paced work environment with minimal supervision.
Obtain and maintain proper certifications that may be required.
Loading and unloading equipment, machine assembly, and installation of equipment.
Perform on-site evaluations and equipment demos.
Willing to travel for trade shows and training opportunities.
Represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
Operate equipment such as forklifts, delivery trucks, etc.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
Other duties as assigned by the Store Manager and/or Shop Manager.
