About The Position

As a Service Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting the performance and reliability of Micromeritics analytical instruments. Working from our service center, you'll perform preventative maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, and testing on customer instruments while supporting our internal laboratories and field service organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to build a career supporting advanced scientific instrumentation. You'll collaborate with Technical Support, Engineering, and Field Service teams to deliver exceptional service and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematic diagrams, and calibration procedures.
  • Ability to make decisions without appreciable supervision.
  • Ability to repair machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Time management of one's own time and the time of others.
  • Deductive Reasoning: The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
  • Inductive Reasoning: The ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of electromechanical system testing, troubleshooting, and assembly.
  • Experience assembling, repairing, or troubleshooting material characterization instruments or analytical instruments, or other electromechanical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of analytical instruments, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of electronic control boards, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment applied to the production of instruments.
