About The Position

This role is responsible for accurately diagnosing, maintaining, and assembling customer and store equipment. The equipment can range from bicycles and exercise machines to sporting goods like skis, skates, gloves, bats, golf clubs, and archery equipment. The technician will also order repair parts from vendors, safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers, maintain detailed records, and assist with delivering and loading equipment. The position requires the ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation, and maintenance instructions. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, with work hours potentially falling between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday, including varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

Clean, valid driver’s license.
Willingness to obtain DOT certification.
Meet Scheels driving standards.
Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.

Responsibilities

Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment (bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise).
Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Must be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
