This position is responsible for completing work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback. The role also complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices. The technician will perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on all Walmart equipment, including trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles. This involves creating and processing work orders, performing minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment, assessing maintenance needs, identifying parts and solutions, conducting repairs (e.g., drivetrain components, communication equipment, onboard technology, HVAC systems), and adhering to company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Additionally, the role includes receiving fuel drops, conducting fuel sampling, monitoring safety compliance, collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis, and completing appropriate paperwork. The technician will also identify and perform warrantable repairs, enter accurate information into the maintenance system, complete warranty tags, and create and process warranty claims.
