Responsibilities

  • Performs inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs following company guidelines under the direct supervision of a qualified shop technician on some Walmart equipment (e.g., trailers).
  • Creates and processes work orders, assesses maintenance and repair needs, identifies needed parts and possible solutions, and selects the best possible solution.
  • Conducts maintenance and repairs, including dismounting/installing tires on wheels, repairing flats, balancing tires, adjusting landing gear, replacing lights, and trailer door repairs, following company and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines and requirements.
  • Seeks approval for maintenance and repairs performed by qualified shop technicians.
  • Communicates with individuals or groups (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates) verbally and in writing.
  • Completes work orders, records, logs, and other written or computer-based documents according to established procedures.
  • Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance, following procedures for fuel additives, monitoring tank levels before and after the drop, collecting and preparing fuel samples for analysis and shipping, and completing appropriate paperwork.
  • Works as a team, builds strong and trusting relationships, and communicates with impact, energy, and positivity to motivate and influence.
