About The Position

The Service Project Manager is responsible for organizing, executing, and completing service projects. This role involves managing projects from initiation to close-out, including coordinating with various teams, managing subcontractors, ordering materials, billing, and ensuring quality control. The position requires strong project management skills, technical knowledge of HVAC and DDC systems, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

  • Ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple Service Projects totaling approximately $500K.
  • Knowledge of HVAC Mechanical Systems and DDC Systems.
  • Ability to handle small projects from start to finish when required.
  • Ability to travel when required (limited).
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong spelling and grammatical report writing skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Project).
  • DDC System Installation experience.
  • DDC Control System startup experience.
  • Project Management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of AA Engineering Undergraduate Degree (preferred not required).

Responsibilities

  • Organize new projects from Administration, including collecting documentation, analyzing timelines, and understanding requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operation Supervisor on commissioning workload timelines.
  • Coordinate with engineering and programming teams for scheduling.
  • Hire and manage electrical subcontractors by reviewing bids, maintaining documentation, and enforcing contract execution.
  • Order project materials by completing requisitions, coordinating with panel builders, scheduling deliveries, and communicating with customers.
  • Direct electrical subcontractors by reviewing project information, communicating timelines, prioritizing tasks, answering questions, enforcing installation methods, and verifying completion.
  • Bill construction projects by collaborating with Administration and coordinating with customers for billing requirements.
  • Communicate project information to Engineering/Programming, Technicians, and Ops Management, including construction progress, jobsite visits, and schedule updates.
  • Manage project changes, including pricing and directing change orders.
  • Complete service projects by assisting technicians with scheduling, modifications, and corrections for DDC and Displays.
  • Prepare project close-out documentation, transfer data, complete service turnover, and conduct Owner Training.
  • Achieve financial objectives by coordinating with the Ops management team, reviewing labor cost reports, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Maintain Alerton/Industry Technical Knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and staying updated on installation methods and project management issues.
  • Provide quality control of installations by enforcing safety requirements, commissioning methods, and project documentation.
  • Contribute to team effort by leading by example, maintaining a positive attitude, attending meetings, and sharing knowledge.
