About The Position

The Service Porter is responsible for moving cars between the service aisle, shop, and parking lot, washing vehicles after service is complete, and assisting the Loaner Department with their check-in process. This role requires a self-starter with good judgment who can work independently and handle a high-pressure environment to provide prompt and safe service.

Requirements

Able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Must be at least 21 years or older.
Good judgment in all aspects of the job.
Must be able to perform without a supervisor directing each and every action (a “self-starter” personality).

Responsibilities

Move cars between service aisle, shop, and parking lot.
Wash vehicles when service work is complete.
Assist Loaner Department and follow the check-in process.
Greet customers in a courteous manner.
Ask customers about their check-in time, Service Advisor, and if they would like a complimentary beverage.
Advise Service Advisor of customer arrival and car make.
Check in loaner vehicles using the proper procedure.
Inspect all loaner vehicles upon return.
Ensure all loaner vehicles are damage-free, thoroughly vacuumed, and washed if necessary.
Maintain loaner fleet vehicles that are not in use and ensure they are ready for loan.
Utilize the valet procedure, considering weather conditions.
Direct customers to remain in their vehicles until they can drive to the designated check-in area.
Assist customers out of their vehicles.
Place seat covers on customer seats, ensure vehicles have mats, washer fluid, 100% vacuum, and alignment check (including battery and tires).
Keep the service aisle clean and neat.
Keep the service lane floor swept, mopped, and use the floor cleaner machine when needed.
Continuously walk through and maintain the Customer Lounge.
Advise Management of any safety concerns and use wet floor signs as needed.
Bring cars swiftly and safely to the service aisle for customer delivery.
Drive the service delivery van as needed by the Service Manager.
Empty trash and provide cleaning support for technicians.
Put away vacuum hoses at the end of the day.
Put old tires away in the designated trailer.
Dispose of cups, paper, and other items in the trash and take to the dumpster.
Replace outside trash bags.
Fill all washer jugs.
Ensure all service vehicles and rentals are out of the service drive at the end of the day.
Park shuttles and position them first in line by the exit door.
Maintain carwash stickers for Kelley service customers.
Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by Management.
