Smith Corporation in 2011. Primary FunctionOversee daily manufacturing and warehouse order fulfillment operations, including inventory control and production scheduling, to ensure efficient and accurate performance. Leads and supports team members to meet production goals, ensures processes are followed correctly, and collaborates with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and improve overall operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of related work experience or training
  • 2+ years of supervisory/leadership experience
  • Experience in manufacturing and supervision
  • Ability to prepare and interpret various metrics, and reports
  • Ability to identify problems and take appropriate corrective measures
  • Effective communication skills via written and oral
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.
  • Proficient mathematical skills
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or related field, preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • Experience in Inventory Management, Logistics and External Delivery Service Partner (EDSP)
  • Experience with planning, performance metrics, and process improvement
  • Teaching/Coaching/Training skills

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and enforce company policies and procedures to Leaders and Operators.
  • Promote a safe working environment through adherence to OSHA regulations as well as company safety policies.
  • Support EHS and HR with investigations into injuries, accidents, near misses, and workplace conflicts, including administering appropriate disciplinary actions within the Manufacturing Department.
  • Motivate and empower the team to meet or exceed expected productivity goals.
  • Responsible for timely notification of scheduled hours to leaders and employees.
  • Responsible for completing employee time, absenteeism, and vacation paperwork or systems in a timely manner.
  • Develop and promote positive relations with employees through effective communication of company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for coordination and implementation of the cross training program, the manufacturing training program and departmental rotation plans.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist Leaders in solving work problems.
  • Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications; analyze all nonconformances for root cause and implement corrective procedures.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Study production schedules, estimate man-hours requirements for completion of job assignment and make appropriate action plans.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all manufacturing production schedules including subassemblies, service requirements, and other department requests.
  • Responsible for product quality in accordance with established Company guidelines and / or specifications.
  • Train personnel and provide guidance as required in use of SAP.
  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and job orders to workers, and assign duties.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Monitor daily operational metrics including delivery performance, capacity utilization, scan compliance, and service quality.
  • Verify product inventory and warehouse locations for accuracy.
  • Create and manage budgets for service parts to control costs and support daily operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align logistics with business goals.
  • Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Supervise and direct Leaders to efficiently meet production schedules through the use of available manpower.
  • Reports and maintains production records.
  • Responsible for completion and utilization of all manufacturing forms and paperwork.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory for plant production supplies and small tooling.
  • Responsible for following through on Maintenance issues.
  • Assist with maintaining building security.
  • Work with Engineering on creating, maintaining and implementing drawings, BOM revisions, ECO, ETC.
  • Responsible for proper care and cleaning of the equipment, following all safety policies and guidelines and maintaining the area’s organization and housekeeping.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy of raw materials in the area and assists with cycle counting.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.
