Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania and North Central West Virginia is a nonprofit organization that funds job training, education, and other community programs by selling donated clothing and household items in Goodwill stores and online. We offer life-changing work on a mission-minded team. We are 1,000 working as one, and each of us is essential to helping our community thrive. For three years running, Goodwill has been named to Forbes’ list of America’s “Most Inspiring Companies”. We offer a wide range of career opportunities from entry-level to management in retail, human services, and administrative fields. The Service Navigator for the agency’s Re-Entry program functions as a service coordinator for participants transitioning from incarceration in a Bureau of Prison (BOP) facility to a BOP Residential Reentry Center (RRC) or BOP-contracted RRC, and ultimately, back into the community. This role is essential in preparing reentrants to reintegrate back to the community through facilitation of pre-release planning, employment training, and other vital supportive services. This position coordinates services with other Goodwill programs, First Step Act staff and community partners to ensure seamless service delivery. The Service Navigator is responsible for providing advocacy, full scope case planning, job placement services and program referrals to work towards the participant’s goal of overcoming barriers to reentry. This team is expected to split their work week between agency and community partner sites so reliable transportation will be essential in this role.
