Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, and ensures that customer’s needs are met. Supervises and coordinates the activities of employees or performs the work of all job levels. This role is accountable and reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers of HWH, Perishables, Store Operations and eCommerce. Positions that report to this role include all positions except those listed above or designated by the Store Director. The Service Manager is responsible for maintaining a positive attitude, creating an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork, and encouraging employees to greet and speak to customers. They provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions, treating customers as the most important people in the store. This includes learning customer names, assisting them with their shopping needs, answering the telephone promptly, and acting as a leader and role model. The Service Manager plans, prepares, and adjusts work schedules, assigns employees to specific duties, and supervises and coordinates activities of employees in all areas of the store in the Department Managers absence. They also formulate pricing philosophies, order merchandise, train employees on store policies and procedures, enforce safety procedures, and compile and understand managerial data. Additionally, they determine the location of ad and promotional displays, confer with employees to solve problems, explain store services to potential customers, and maintain adherence to company guidelines.
