Responsibilities

  • Establishes communication with vendors within the service area and consults GM to gain alignment on improvement solutions to deliver results and enhance performance.
  • Directs and schedules the activities of all service department associates.
  • Responsible for training service department associates, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Oversees all daily job responsibilities along with the internal mechanical repairs of existing Car-Mart inventory, ensuring quality and efficiency, with a focus on cost savings.
  • Keep apprised of industry standards and advancements and apply best practices to areas for improvement and enhanced customer experience.
  • Understands, keeps up-to-date and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, hazardous waste disposal, OSHA regulations, safety, and compliance.
  • Ensures that customers' vehicle repair status, documents and information are current and available for reference or communication in ALIS.
  • Monitors and influences the execution of vehicle repairs using appropriate information, tracking and customer information.
  • Applies a cost-effective process when sourcing quality parts for repairs through comparative analysis across multiple part providers and processes all parts to be returned for collecting and shipping core parts.
  • Escalates issues or concerns to manager and maintains communication with the customer.
  • Create, receive and review required documents for parts and repairs (P.O. Invoices, work order authorizations etc.) and ensure they are processed accurately and timely.
  • Maintains a detailed repair log with costs of parts and labor for repaired vehicles.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and support the company mission, vision, values, and standards of ethics.
  • Daily attendance required to ensure all duties are completed in a timely fashion.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your direct manager.
