About The Position

As the Service Manager at Doncaster Village, you are expected to lead by example for the service team of this beautiful community with 616 apartment-homes. Help set the standard by demonstrating superior technical skills and professionalism. Most Important Responsibilities Demonstrate important leadership qualities and take initiative to help guide the team as they make timely high-quality repairs, perform preventive maintenance and deliver exceptional customer service. Work closely with a very experienced Community Manager to communicate the mechanical/technical aspects of the community and make good decisions. Share your knowledge with the team, while continuing to develop your own leadership skills. Take direction from the Community Manager to make sure everyone follows CRC protocol. Manage the make-ready board, schedule contractors for vacant units, order supplies, schedule and perform pre move-out inspections. Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance. Oversee quality of final work product, while performing tasks yourself, i.e. turns and tickets.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Service Manager exp required, preferably on a demanding community with 500+ units.
  • Proven ability to manage a large team, coaching and development, sharing your knowledge, keeping them motivated, holding them accountable.
  • EPA required, coupled with actual HVAC skills.
  • MUST BE A WORKING SUPERVISOR with a proven track record of stepping up to the plate and taking initiative.
  • Solid technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, drywall, carpentry, electrical, appliance repair.
  • Vehicle, driver’s license, tools, willing to pull call.
  • Ability to assess and address problems quickly, good organization skills and strong follow up.

Nice To Haves

  • Budgeting knowledge a plus, including overseeing capital projects and renovations.
