About The Position

We're hiring a Service Manager for a high-volume import franchise dealership in Owings Mills. This is a real step-up opportunity for individuals currently running a service lane, working as an assistant service manager, or a top-performing advisor. The ownership is experienced in fixed operations, the tech team is tenured, and the fixed operations director is committed to developing a manager. The role involves full ownership of the service department, including advisors, technicians, and porters, and managing daily throughput, CSI, warranty compliance, scheduling, and team retention.

Requirements

2+ years in a dealership service department in a lead, lane manager, assistant manager, or top-producing advisor role.
Franchise experience, ideally import (Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Nissan, or similar).
Proficiency with a DMS (CDK, Reynolds, Tekion) and a scheduling tool (Xtime or myKaarma).
Ability to read a service department financial statement or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
Coaching leadership style.
Clean driving record and valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Prior Service Manager experience is not required.

Responsibilities

Manage the full service department: advisors, technicians, porters, and the drive.
Oversee daily throughput, including hours per RO, ELR, and gross retention.
Coach advisors on menu presentation, MPI discipline, and declined-service follow-up.
Ensure CSI and OEM survey performance, and resolve escalated customer issues.
Manage warranty compliance and claim submission accuracy.
Handle scheduling, capacity planning, and loaner/rental fleet management.
Lead hiring, onboarding, and retention of advisors and technicians.
Collaborate with parts and sales departments on trades and used-car reconditioning.
