About The Position

The Service Manager for Field Service Operations manages day-to-day activities of the service technicians. This role is a supervisory level position that oversee technician's performance and provides technical guidance during execution of projects. Additionally, this role will facilitate team member's development and manage the reciprocal relationship between individual team members, and between team members and the organization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years field service management experience in a heavy machinery or heavy construction environment preferred
  • 5+ years of supervision experience preferred
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Read and interpret SOW, specifications, manuals and other data to provide technical assistance to onsite service technicians
  • Familiar with MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) business
  • Analytical and critical thinking capabilities
  • Ability to work independently but also coordinate effectively as part of a team
  • Proven problem solver utilizing root cause analysis, countermeasures and verification for effectiveness techniques
  • Excellent communication skills in high intensity environment
  • Possess a strong sense of urgency
  • Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project

Responsibilities

  • Promote Environmental, Health & Safety objectives to ensure complete adherence to legal, regulatory and company policies. Key team member of Field Service EHS continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversite of the execution of project plans developed by in-house Project Managers
  • Execution of quality verification and facilitation as it relates to technician work being performed onsite at customer facilities
  • Recommends actions to improve performance, and quality of service, and suggests changes in project plans to increase efficiency
  • Identify, communicate, and facilitate action plans regarding potential customer risks and high priority projects
  • Maintain awareness of Technician skillsets and technical abilities to create and manage team member development plans
  • Perform yearly evaluations of technicians in a timely manner
  • Consistently enforce employee compliance with safety and work rules, company policies, procedures, and standards via our corrective action disciplinary procedure
  • Assist in recruitment efforts within the department
  • Execute various other general responsibilities common to most supervisory positions
  • Key team member in process standardization, development, training, and implementation
  • Key team member on Field Service Operational Excellence Programs
