About The Position

The Service Line Director of Surgical Services leads strategic, growth, budgetary and operational objectives for the Surgical Services department. Functions as the head of the Surgical Services leadership team and is responsible for coordination of the entire health care team in the Surgical Services Department (operating room, pre-op, same day surgery, PACU, pain clinic, infusions, GI suite, pre-admission testing, and scheduling) for adult and pediatric patients. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of both clinical and leadership duties by maintaining a suitable environment for patient care; assisting staff with ethical, legal and patient/family advocacy issues; demonstrating knowledge and clinical expertise and aiding staff to develop the same; as well as developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems that support the clinical practice in the department. Holds staff accountable for performing and delivering patient care that is consistent with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Values as well as the organization's strategic plan.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a registered nurse degree
  • Current Colorado license
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience, preferably working in an acute care or surgical services setting
  • Progressive previous management experience required
  • BLS required upon hire
  • ACLS or ENPC/PALS required within 9 months of hire and current thereafter
  • Encompasses a wide range of nursing, psycho-social and medical information which includes nursing process, communications and problem-solving, assessment and prioritizing skills.
