Service & Installation Technician

Requirements
- Candidates must successfully complete an employment background check and drug screening
- Process a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Must be able to safely move and lift materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds on a routine basis, and on limited occasions up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders and tolerate heights reaching a minimum of 12 feet
- Experience using power tools
- Must be willing to cross-train to provide services to other departments
- Customer oriented interpersonal skills
- Technical and/or Mechanical knowledge and abilities
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics
- Must be willing to attend training sessions
- Must be able to obtain required Certification(s)
Responsibilities
- Perform service, installation, and inspections on fire alarm, security, CCTV, access control systems, and various other low voltage systems
- Prepares for security/fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools
- Establishes security/fire alarm system by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards
- Verifies security/fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals, identifying and correcting issues
- Maintains records by documenting installation
- Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices, keeping security information confidential
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training
- Participation in on-call rotation for emergency service and work overtime as needed
- Communicate in a professional manner and provide excellent customer service
- Serve as back-up and technical helper as needed
- Promote all B-Tech products and services
- Other duties may be assigned
