About The Position

The Service Foreman is responsible for leading a service crew to complete daily work safely, productively, and to Mahaney standards. Service projects, including roof leak diagnosis, repairs, and maintenance will be the primary focus of this position. The Foreman is responsible for managing daily production goals, coordinating materials and equipment, solving challenges, developing crews, and maintaining strong relationships with customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of low-slope roofing experience.
  • Experience leading roofing projects and directing roofing crews.
  • Experience with commercial roofing systems, service work, and roof repairs.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work various hours and schedules while maintaining excellent attendance.
  • Ability to learn new tasks, systems, and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams while maintaining mutual respect.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to actively listen and communicate effectively.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair roof leaks.
  • Perform detailed roofing work including heat welds, pipe boots, and other service repairs.
  • Examine roofs, penetrations, and job plans to determine the best approach for completing work.
  • Solve service problems with minimal supervision.
  • Notify the Superintendent when a specified installation is not possible or when an alternative method would be more productive.
  • Maintain exceptional knowledge of low-slope roofing systems and roof layups.
  • Perform work that meets Mahaney's standards for quality, watertightness, productivity, and safety.
  • Operate heavy equipment including boom lifts, SkyTraks, and other equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean job site.
  • Lead and direct crew to accomplish daily production goals.
  • Mentor, train, and develop crew in advanced commercial roofing and service skills.
  • Encourage, coach, discipline, and provide feedback to crew as needed.
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews for assigned team members.
  • Receive and apply feedback and coaching from the Superintendent.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with crew, customers, and other team members.
  • Maintain exceptional attendance and set the expectation for reliability within the crew.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during service work.
  • Communicate customer needs, concerns, and opportunities to the Superintendent.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Provide quality service that represents Mahaney professionally in the field.
  • Leak diagnosis and repair, preventative maintenance, customer service calls, inspections, and other service-related roofing work.
  • Manage assigned projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate equipment and materials needed for each job.
  • Ensure materials and equipment are properly secured to prevent theft or other hazards.
  • Process QuikBids, RTMs, service tickets, and projects through FCS.
  • Follow all required FCS protocols.
  • Attend daily production meetings and actively participate.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and companywide mandatory training.
  • Confirm job sites are set up safely before work begins.
  • Follow all Mahaney Safety Policies and procedures.
  • Maintain the assigned truck, tools, and equipment in good working condition.
  • Ensure the crew works safely and follows required procedures.
  • Proactively address unsafe conditions and communicate safety concerns to the appropriate leader.
