About The Position

Valmet is seeking a customer-focused Field Service Expert and Team Player for its Automation Business line, specifically within the Carolina area serving the pulp and paper and power generation industries. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing preventive and predictive maintenance on Valmet QCS and DCS equipment at various customer sites.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Chemical or Paper engineering with relevant experience.
  • Instrumentation and controls background.
  • Understanding of Cyber Security fundamentals.
  • Good understanding of Virtual System.
  • Experience in a QCS/DCS/Quality support role.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows and networking.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to use tools appropriately and in a safe manner.
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
  • Strong fault-finding skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preventive and predictive maintenance on Valmet QCS and DCS equipment.
  • Perform system upgrades as needed.
  • Update control logic as needed.
  • Perform sensor correlations.
  • Perform controls tuning.
  • Conduct preventive and remedial maintenance.
  • Provide remote phone and internet support to customers.
  • Generate reports after each customer visit.
  • Conduct customer update meetings.
  • Provide ongoing customer training and interact with operations to ensure equipment is performing and utilized as expected.
