The Service Engineer VI position involves performing service tasks, identifying technical problems, and conducting analysis through remote or on-site activity in various service categories. This includes installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, upgrades and retrofits, end-of-life services, and replacements of turbochargers for commercial applications. The scope can range from the United States Navy in the marine sector to power stations on the land side. The role contributes to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer orders and expectations, ensuring operational standards and the operational ability of customers' equipment. Additionally, the position involves identifying new sales opportunities, coordinating materials and equipment for service activities, preparing customer reports, proactively identifying potential equipment failures and suggesting corrective actions, troubleshooting equipment failures, and providing recommendations to avoid future problems. The role also includes identifying and communicating suggestions for product and quality improvement, providing recommendations to management for operational and customer service improvements, and adhering to safety rules and environmental responsibilities, including reporting unsafe practices and incidents.

Requirements

  • Requires 10 years of experience working with at least one of the following: rotating machinery, diesel engines, gas engines, outboard motors, car or truck engines, hydraulic services, forklift services, or air compressors.
  • Must have 10 years of experience performing safe rigging and lifting operations, including using overhead cranes and chain falls.
  • Must also have 7 years of experience performing turbocharger mechanical engineering activities.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 40% of working time (domestic and international).

Nice To Haves

  • In lieu of 2 years of experience as stated, employer will accept a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Engineering Technology or a related field and 8 years of experience as stated.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service tasks, identify technical problems and make analysis through remote or on-site activity in any service categories, including installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, engineering and consulting, advanced services, extensions, upgrades and retrofits, end of life services and replacements of a variety of turbochargers for commercial applications.
  • Contribute to customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectations, and ensure operational standards and operational ability of our customers.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and communicate them internally.
  • Coordinate, prepare and ensure that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities.
  • Prepare all documents and reports to be signed by the customer representative.
  • Proactively identify potential equipment failures and request proactive corrective actions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failure and make recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future.
  • Proactively identify suggestions for product and quality improvement and communicate them further in the Accelleron organization.
  • Provide recommendations to management to improve operations and customer service.
  • Apply safety rules and safe practices as well as environmental responsibilities.
  • Report unsafe practices and incidents.
