About The Position

The Service Employee is responsible for the basic maintenance and fueling of school buses, activity buses, and commercial coaches, in collaboration with Transco's maintenance department. They distribute fuel, check oil levels, maintain accurate gauge and meter readings, stock necessary supplies and equipment, and coordinate bus traffic to ensure safe operations. They also perform light maintenance on buildings and grounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Basic knowledge of bus maintenance.
Ability to learn mechanical maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities

Open depot gates and check parking areas to ensure buses can be dispatched in a timely manner.
Reposition buses as needed to maintain smooth traffic flow in the yard.
Maintain accurate records and complete required reports, including the bulk fuel receipt report, fuel variance report, month-end closing report, and meter calibration report.
Notify the Branch Manager (or their representative) when a fuel delivery is needed and ensure gauge readings are taken before and after delivery.
Check and top off engine oil, antifreeze, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, and check belt conditions when fueling buses.
Perform minor interior and exterior maintenance on buses as needed.
Perform any other tasks requested by management.
