The Service Drive Buyer plays a critical role in supporting inventory acquisition and driving dealership profitability by identifying and purchasing vehicles directly from service lane customers.

Requirements

Prior automotive sales, service advisor, or vehicle acquisition experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust quickly.
Confident in initiating conversations and overcoming objections in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assess vehicle condition and understand basic appraisal principles (training provided if needed).
Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
Professional, polished, and customer-focused demeanor.
Comfortable working cross-functionally between Sales and Service departments.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
Basic computer skills and experience with CRM tools preferred.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Engage service lane customers to identify opportunities to purchase their current vehicle.
Build rapport quickly and professionally with guests while they are waiting for service.
Appraise vehicles using established dealership processes, tools, and market data.
Present purchase offers clearly and confidently, addressing customer questions and objections.
Partner with Sales Managers and Used Car Managers to structure competitive and profitable offers.
Coordinate with the Service Department to identify high-potential vehicles for acquisition.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, appraisals, and purchase opportunities in CRM systems.
Follow up with customers who express interest in selling but do not immediately transact.
Support inventory acquisition goals by sourcing desirable pre-owned vehicles aligned with dealership needs.
Ensure all transactions are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with dealership and legal requirements.
