About The Position

As a Service Director, you will report to the Service Line VP and provide strategic and operational leadership for a Regional Business Unit (RBU) within our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) Service Line in Ontario. This role is accountable for driving financial performance, operational excellence, and safe, high-quality service delivery. As a member of the Canadian leadership team, the Service Director leads growth, develops talent, and advances business priorities through cross-functional collaboration. The compensation range for this role is $140,000 to $190,000, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in engineering, geosciences or environmental sciences related disciplines with a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in consulting practice.
  • Located in the Greater Toronto Area or immediate vicinity with an expectation to work in the office of Oakville or Guelph full-time or on a hybrid basis for a minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
  • Ability to travel with a valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize various project related or internal deliverables and delegating as appropriate in accordance with the Delegation of Authority.
  • Value responsiveness and executing quality work while developing tactics to grow the business that are aligned with the Canadian business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Champion and model a strong safety culture. Partner with H&S to ensure compliance with company safety standards and employee engagement.
  • Operations & People Leadership: Deliver RBU performance targets (revenue, profitability, utilization, margins, DSO, pipeline, and cost management). Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and resource forecasting. Lead and develop Service Leads to drive performance and align with strategic goals. Oversee workforce planning, hiring, performance management, and succession planning. Foster a high-performance, collaborative culture and address performance issues proactively. Ensure compliance with company policies, systems, and governance requirements. Collaborate with functional leaders (HR, Finance, H&S, Legal, Marketing, etc.) to align operations with business objectives.
  • Revenue & Growth: Drive revenue growth initiatives and support strategic business development efforts. Partner with Revenue & Growth teams on account strategies, client development, and key hiring decisions. Promote collaboration across service lines to strengthen market presence and client delivery. Contribute to achieving annual growth and revenue targets.
  • Technical Excellence & Project Delivery: Ensure effective assignment of Project Managers, Project Directors, Technical Advisors (TA), and Subject Matter Experts (SME). Promote quality, technical excellence, and adherence to project management standards. Oversee project performance through reviews and lifecycle controls to ensure quality and profitability. Align technical capabilities with client needs to enhance value delivery. Act as Project Director, TA, SME, or proposal lead where appropriate.
