Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership ability to supervise and train employees.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and inventory control.
  • Ability to operate deli equipment and computer systems.
  • Previous experience in deli operations or food service management preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Temperature-controlled environment with frequent exposure to refrigerated and freezer conditions.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with fast and friendly service.
  • Assist customers with product suggestions, special orders, and food preparation ideas.
  • Oversee all deli operations including food preparation, cooking, and serving.
  • Implement proper product preparation and packaging techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and visual appeal of the deli area.
  • Schedule, supervise, and train department employees.
  • Monitor inventory levels, control shrink, and ensure freshness.
  • Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness and maintains inventory levels according to division directives.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks.
  • Ensures temperatures are maintained in all phases of preparation, display, and storage.
  • Ensure compliance with labeling laws, safety regulations, and company standards.
  • Perform administrative tasks and maintain accurate department records.
