About The Position

North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to join their team. NBRC is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities. In this role, you will manage the delivery of services to regional center clients, including those with intensive physical or emotional needs, ensuring their Individual Program Plan and its objectives are pursued. The position emphasizes person-centered planning and the use of public and private resources before utilizing regional center funds.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with clients and assisting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field which offers content related to developmental disabilities (i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, and/or Nursing).
  • Minimum education requirement may not be waived.
  • 3 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disability.
  • Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients.
  • All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers.

  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.
  • Bilingual language ability (Spanish to English) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of services to regional center clients, including those with intensive physical or emotional needs.
  • Ensure client’s Individual Program Plan and its objectives are pursued.
  • Assist clients in the use of public and private resources before using regional center funds to purchase services.
  • Monitor vendor services and verify that services are delivered in accordance with the purchase of service authorizations.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of clients’ Individual Program Plans.
  • Ensure that appropriate community resources are made available to the client.
  • Conduct annual reassessments of clients’ developmental status in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Conduct client assessments on an occasional basis.
