About The Position

North Bay Regional Center (NBRC) is seeking a dedicated Service Coordinator to join their team. This role involves managing the delivery of services to regional center clients, including those with intensive physical or emotional needs, and ensuring their Individual Program Plan objectives are met. NBRC is a nonprofit private corporation that contracts with the Department of Developmental Services to coordinate services and supports for individuals with developmental disabilities, aiming to promote opportunities and support choices for them. The Service Coordinator will utilize person-centered planning to assist clients in accessing public and private resources before utilizing regional center funds. Responsibilities include monitoring vendor services, evaluating the effectiveness of Individual Program Plans, ensuring access to community resources, conducting annual reassessments of clients' developmental status with an interdisciplinary team, and performing occasional client assessments.

Requirements

  • Enjoy working with clients and assisting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field which offers content related to developmental disabilities (i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Special Education, and/or Nursing). Minimum education requirement may not be waived.
  • 3 years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disability.
  • Candidates for employment must live within commute distance to their preferred NBRC office, as well as the geographical location of their assigned clients.
  • All employment at NBRC requires face-to-face, in-person interactions with NBRC clients, family members, community, and co-workers.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Bilingual language ability (Spanish to English) is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of services to regional center clients, including those with intensive physical or emotional needs.
  • Ensuring client’s Individual Program Plan and its objectives are pursued.
  • Using person-centered planning to assist clients in use of public and private resources before using regional center funds to purchase services.
  • Monitoring vendor services and verifying that services are delivered in accordance with the purchase of service authorizations.
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of clients’ Individual Program Plans.
  • Ensuring that appropriate community resources are made available to the client.
  • Conducting annual reassessments of clients’ developmental status in conjunction with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Conducting client assessments on an occasional basis.
