About The Position

Norfolk Iron and Metal Co. is one of the largest family-owned steel service centers in the Midwest and we are seeking to fill the administrative position of Service Clerk on 2nd Shift. Come join a family owned company that has been in business for over a century! This is a 2nd Shift position, working from 2 PM - 10 PM, Monday – Friday. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous office/clerical experience a plus
Ability to work independently
Attention to detail
Strong work ethic
Computer literacy

Ability to work with a variety of people
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Printing bill of ladings
Confirming packing list is accurate and complete
Ensuring correct and timely billing to customers
Entering credit/debit memos
Following up with discrepancies in billing
Assisting with receiving in the office
Verifying heat numbers, tag numbers and piece counts to ensure packing list accuracy
Generating a bill of lading for drivers and verifying information against driver packing list
Notifying drivers of load status
Invoicing customers
Weighing in commercial carriers and printing receiving reports for warehouse personnel
Matching receiving paperwork between drivers/rail car and office for accuracy
Ensuring the accuracy of all paperwork including packing lists, receiving reports, stock transfer forms, etc. and reporting any discrepancies to warehouse supervisor
Communicating returns to warehouse personnel in a timely and efficient manner
Other duties as directed by management
