About The Position

St. Louis County is seeking a part-time Service Center Specialist to assist the public in obtaining licenses, permits, and titles at the Auditor's Mall Service Center. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy public-facing customer service in a fast-paced environment. Experience handling cash in a customer-facing role is preferred. The position is part-time (0.5 FTE) with a bi-weekly schedule totaling 64.25 hours, including four days a week from 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM, and every other Saturday from 9:00 AM - 1:15 PM. The salary range is $23.22 - $31.83 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent.
• Three (3) years full-time paid verifiable experience in a position requiring handling cash transactions.
• Possession of a valid driver's license or state identification card.
• Certification as a License Title Agent within one (1) year of employment.

• Experience with handling cash in a customer-facing role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluating and reviewing documents for inaccuracies or possible fraud.
• Preparing and processing Minnesota identification card applications.
• Preparing and processing driver's license applications.
• Processing and renewing registrations for vehicles and recreational vehicles.
• Completing title transfers.
• Accepting and processing passports.
• Issuing Department of Natural Resources (DNR) titles, licenses, and renewals.
• Receiving payments for property taxes.
