About The Position

Do you have interest in serving as a part-time service center specialist to assist the public in obtaining licenses, permits and titles in the Auditor's Mall Service Center? If you thrive in a public-facing, customer service position in a fast-paced environment, put your skills to work with St. Louis County! This position is part-time with a bi-weekly schedule of 64.25 hours. The salary range is $23.22 - $31.83 per hour. This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Unit Employees Collective Bargaining Agreement represented by Council 5 of AFSCME. St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify and does not provide sponsorship for employment visas. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States for St. Louis County on a full-time basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Three (3) years full-time paid verifiable experience in a position requiring handling cash transactions.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license or state identification card.
  • Certification as a License Title Agent within one (1) year of employment. Failure to obtain certification within one (1) year will result in termination from the position.
  • Must be continuously authorized to work in the United States for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis.
  • Must pass a drug test.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Must submit documentation verifying identity and employment eligibility within three days of their first day of employment.
  • Must successfully complete a twelve-month probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and reviewing documents for inaccuracies or possible fraud.
  • Preparing and processing Minnesota identification card applications.
  • Preparing and processing driver's license applications.
  • Processing and renewing registrations for vehicles and recreational vehicles.
  • Completing title transfers.
  • Accepting and processing passports.
  • Issuing Department of Natural Resources (DNR) titles, licenses and renewals.
  • Receiving payments for property taxes.
